AUDITIONS

From stage to PIT to behind the scenes, all productions will hold auditions for students to participate.  Auditions are an important part of the production. Aside from the necessity of allowing staff to select the right students for the show as a whole (we don't cast parts, we cast shows), it allows students to showcase their talents, improvements, skills, and preparation.
For play auditions, students will be asked to attend one.  The audition will include a brief discussion of the show and a cold read (reading from a script given to you at the audition).

For musical auditions, students will be asked to attend one night. The audition will include a brief discussion of the show, a music vocal audition (from the materials provided for auditions), a dance audition (taught at auditions so everyone is learning together), and a cold read (reading from a script given to you at the audition).

We know that auditions are nerve-racking! Students auditioning can sing alone, in a group, or privately at the end of auditions. For dances, you always dance in a group and you will always be part of a group reading the scene. No one has to do it alone! We know auditions can be scary and intimidating, so we'll do out best to make them not that. Remember, we're not looking for perfection - we're looking for students who are open to direction and ready to have fun!

ACTOR APPLICATIONS/AUDITIONS
Students will also be asked to do a cold read (acting out a scene you receive in the audition - everyone will be seeing it for the first time).
